28 Aug Tariffs??What ifs…
An embargo on Indian goods? Who is next?
WHAT IF...they are shooting in their own foot?
Who would bear the direct brunt of Trump’s tariffs?
US: “.. war in Ukraine is India’s fault ”
India: “… India will never compromise when it comes to protecting the interests of our farmers”

Phrases that you can hear on the streets now, precisely in Tamil Nadu (garment export).
‘We can’t keep paying salaries with no orders in line’
‘… like being in a nightmare’
‘The US is toying with us’
‘…there will be a lot of retrenchment of the workers’
The small farmers, who peel the shrimp would be the most affected, as what India’ officials say, because there is no work for them now.
This situation is certainly benefiting Bangladesh, China, and Vietnam.
For india
Uncertainty in the market, as 40% export of India in the US market. So could mark India’s business is on the verge of collapse.
Big debt, shatter the key-export driven sectors…
Textiles, gems, jewellery, carpets, and who you would think — I giggle when I saw— shrimps. Yes exactly, shrimps (“US takes 40 %percent of India’s shrimp shipments.”).
Guess, there will be not enough shrimps for Americans now…chicken, pick the chickens then.
Yeah, India awaits struggling times from this 50% US tariffs, but is the US would win anything from it? Eyes balls out, when the US officials heard, PM Modi said last week:
” India should become self-reliant … Economic selfishness is on the rise globally and we mustn’t sit and cry about our difficulties”
So two decades of diplomatic and strategic investments with India just to the bin. No to the shredder yet tho.
What is left for India is to navigate this problem, come up with the plan, what the government actually promissed to do so far.
Many things agreements, and projects are recently were picked up from the bin, like ExolMObil Sakhalin project with Russia that was zipped and flipped in the year of 2022 : blamed russia for starting the conflict in Ukraine and left. ‘Bravo! You did the right thing! All should follow you’, said all those self-called democrated from EU and the US. Didn’t they think in 2 years they would call on returning to Russia, work on the project. Huh, time passed, suddenly all become irrelevant, is it?
For the US?
Continue to push India and others with tariffs. What could play well for the US domestic goods, but surely risking fully isolate them from the rest.
And do we know what happened to those countries that tried to isolate themselves? Japan, UK, China, RSA, Myanmar…and more, who nearly shuttered their own economy in attempt to stop their money flow into other states, totally blocking intern. trade — failed drastically.

What the US think to do now with all those tariffs…
In India. US wants greater market access to India’s agriculture and dairy sectors. And totally stop India’s trade, big diplomatic relationships with Russia on oil.
In Mexico. US trying to stop their economic somewhat boom till their fully obey to the US orders. Be the one in their palm. Argentinization? Those Argie buddies ,sadly, are still in their nappy happy time. Thats how Argentina, pictured to me, as perfect example in a future ‘what not to do when you friend an Uncle Sam’.
In Canada. Similar to Mexico, just in the more civil way : not so fixed with % tariffs, not so threating ( as I think), just waiting on a few points to agree on. This adding to other Canada’s hidden problems, including immigration policy, and real estate investments, which is a boomerang punch from 2000 — 2010 Canada’s ‘happy’ years.

In China. To cut ties with China. To edge that hardcore flux from Chinese goods and therefore stop sponsoring China . But here is the trick, China knew it beforehand that they would be in spect to drag ’em down economically… All knew, times would not be easy on them[China] once Republicans took a stage.
Fast-throu-dust China devaluate their currency. Trade businesses are still rolling with some of the US consumers/companies.
Now… in Russia. 100% tariff on what??…yeah threatening other countries with that %, just not to trade with Russia. Surely pulling here India, China, and others…those who buys oil from Russia. All about this swanky dollar, oil trade currency by default. Let’s see how it goes.
