17 Mar Expensive greens
Fake ...expensive... and very risky...
‘Alcohol NOT FOR ALL!’ Liquor? Fish? Red meat…
First 3 that should be checked; we buy them the most and trapped by its cost…
Robbed hobed… prices DOPED! Postponing your keto diet or whatever diet on greens there. Bad news, those tasteless leafs and salads went up! In price, of course; Not by a cent or a penny, by too many cents and pennies x10, then ^3,…
Yeah, what costed you a lil, is priced as a pure gold. Well figuratively now but soon could be literally somehow. True story how an appetiser become like a whole meal now.
Pocket's sneeze
Cucumbers, tomatos, broccoli mocoli, and other leafs for salads are now sold with ‘limited ed.’ tag. Its no longer a pre-meal dish , its a proper lunch or dinner meal. Huh, doubt it? LOOOOK AT THEIR COST !
Cabbage, carrot, tomato, potato and so ato rugged to the doorstep of most sanctioned, barbarous — so-called by Western — land as an expensive futuristic food. Yeah on the line with Dragon fruit, Jack fruit, coconut, pineapple, avocado and other exotics for the Northern sphere. Who would know few years back that leafy greens would top the bill?!
Slappy silly and very appealing
To all who is trying to pull thru this hole…hole of economic recession, cucumbers aren’t going going cheap! Ahem, inflation went up and so goods rised up in cost by… 200%? Holy trolly.
Would they cost like a caviar soon? Might be, in about few years… And since the quality is like a lottery pick, you never know till you scratch the badge, there would be even bigger gap in cost for organic type, a fancy word that gives no much clue how it differ, alined with other ‘dare to afford’ diet goods.
So stop the planet Im out. Might tell my elders to grow more greens — on their countryside garden — and sell on the market.
Fancy tomato
Fancy ads on tomatos…cucambers, even about leafs ??? WHAAAAT ? Yeah, no wonder all quadruple in price. How basic farmers , who grow and sell foods got money on those fancy ads (aired for 35 sec to 1 min at least on tv, and even in prime time)?
‘ The taste that you would never forget…’, ‘ All bright colour tints…’ ‘ Real RED tomatoes’
Think soon there would be more screamy tags like ” ‘TOMATOES MAKE US !’ … ‘REDS NEDS NO FATS!’, ‘THIS TOMATO IS YOUR MATO!’ ‘and blah blah
All money comes from big corp. Farmers stay poor, mostly, and have not much right on goods they sell, ironically. Distributors in a supply chain making a fortune. Ads worked-on to create this idea of premium product that you can trust, as we think: Brand has own ads> respectful org. > reputation caution > in any bad case — bought rotted tomato, be poisoned by their fruit — they would pay you back, friendly assist for any further needs.
‘Veggie brand has money on ads?’
Well, they just saved, profit from big structural disparities of distribution channels. Yea, quite ‘not fair’ process, if to say a tiny tiny bit from what is going on in this trade route; Massive brands just buy seeds cheaply from outside farmers — not recruited in their ‘ greenhouse lab’, usually somewhere in South Asia like India, China… — to grow organic or modified tomatoes, cucumbers and other, then coins-jingle distribute to the big stores like Walmart, that could offer a golden check for those breaking wallet goods.
So basically those big grocery shops set the cost for those foods after paying heck lots of money to a veggie corp., an official distributor, technically manufacture. But almost nothing falls on to those who independently grow seeds.
